As a photographer I am on Facebook a lot because that is apart of my business. I often see images like the ones below and they make me ask questions like....
Why is she out of focus? The tree is in focus but she's isn't, how does no one see that?
Is that baby green? What is wrong with her skin?
Why are those baby's lips so bright red, why does his hand look so big?!
Is her skin made of plastic? It's super shiny! She looks like a doll!
OH lord why is that photo so tilted?! Who has a diagonal frame?
Why is that little girl glowing?!
And then I remember IT'S BECAUSE NO ONE HAS TAUGHT NEWBIES (NEW PHOTOGRAPHERS) ABOUT THIS! Everyone pays for the class to learn newborn poses but they still don't master it and people CAN TELL. Newbies pay to learn the business side, which is great don't get me wrong but did they show you about lighting? Do you know how to avoid making people so red they look like umpa lumpas? Do you wonder why others succeed and you're stuck in a rut? Do you notice your photo isn't sharp or the baby isn't in focus but you STILL post it?! Because I can.
It's those mistakes that separate your work! You may be thinking "BUT I BOOK A TON!" but I can guarantee you that it's because you are charging $75 for a mini or under $250 for newborn session but yet you are spending 2-4 hours shooting that newborn session and maybe 6+hours editing it so tell me was all that time really worth it for $250.00.
Don't you want to make your work better? I know I did!
I wanted to spend more time with my family and less time trying to fix all my mistakes that I should of done from the beginning because I was spending HOURS behind the computer and it STILL wasn't looking right.
I see so many mistakes on photos that come across my newsfeed and I am always asked to offer a class so I finally decided to do so BUT I will only take on 5 photographers. I will select 5 from the list of interested photographers and I will HELP YOU MAKE IT BETTER!
I am self taught and I am STILL learning and taking classes to better myself and my work. I don't teach anything I've learned because it's not fair or right to steal from others workshops but I teach you EVERYTHING I wish I would of learned sooner and taught myself.
I will ask you to submit 5 photos and I will critique them before we even start the class so I can help narrow down what you need to work on and what we need to make you stand out and better your work.
The class will take place in May at my studio, the class will be 5-6 hours. I will teach you prepping for the session through editing your session.
